Give your young maker an introduction to the wonderful world of sewing! This 4-week beginner sewing class for kids at The Makery in Downtown Wake Forest will introduce students to the essential skills they need to start creating with fabric and thread.
Each week, we'll build on new skills through fun, age-appropriate projects. Students will learn about different fabrics and sewing tools, basic hand stitching, how to safely use a sewing machine, and how simple pieces of fabric can be transformed into something they've made themselves.
Throughout the four weeks, students will practice:
🧵 Basic hand-stitching techniques✂️ Fabric selection, measuring & cutting🪡 Sewing tools and sewing basics✨ How to safely operate a sewing machine🎨 Creating simple beginner sewing projects💡 Building the confidence to continue sewing on their own
