Hand-Building Ceramic Candle Class

In this class, participants will learn to design and hand-build their own ceramic candles. Using slab-building and surface decoration techniques, students will shape, assemble, and personalize their candle holders with textures, patterns, and glazes. The project is approachable for beginners while still offering creative challenges for more advanced participants.

Participants will be introduced to slab, coil, and pinch methods. They will explore texture, stamping, and carving techniques, gaining knowledge about the processes of clay drying, firing, and glazing. The class is designed for both adults and teens, welcoming novices who have no prior experience with clay.

By the end of the class, participants will have the opportunity to create personalized ceramic candle holders, gain confidence in working with clay and surface design, and experience the satisfaction that comes from completing a unique project.
